Fano is the nearest seaside resort of Furlo, less than half an hour of highway to reach this very charming historic town, gateway to the Roman Via Flaminia.
Famous for its carnival, the oldest in Italy. The coastline is divided between “Lido”, wide sandy beaches and “Sassonia”, white pebble beaches. All equipped with typical sailors from the Adriatic.
Fano is home to an important fishing port, which guarantees fresh fish all year round; the lovers of nautical tourism will meet on the marina “Marina dei Cesari”.
Along the coastline, the Adriatic Cycling Route is connecting Fano to Pesaro (12 km easy).
Among the gastronomic specialties do not miss the “brodetto alla fanese” (variant of fisherman’s soup), typical of the cuisine of the Adriatic. And especially taste the “Moretta” coffee arranged with a mixture of rum, anise and brandy, invented a long time ago at the Port Bar to warm the fishermen before going to sea.
Finally the beach of Fano is specially adapted for babies and has obtained the “green banner of pediatricians”.
